The greatest pools don't fight their environment—they embrace it.
**What we look for:**
Contextual design: Does the pool feel inevitable in its location? The best pools seem like they couldn't exist anywhere else.
View optimization: How thoughtfully has the sightline been considered? Is the view framed, or does it just happen to be there?

What Doesn't Matter (As Much As You'd Think)
Some factors that seem important contribute less than expected:
Size: A thoughtfully designed plunge pool can score higher than a sprawling but characterless lagoon. Quality over quantity.
Features: Waterfalls, swim-up bars, and water slides are nice, but they don't compensate for poor fundamentals. A simple rectangular pool with perfect water quality beats a feature-packed pool with green tinge every time.
