About This Pool
The Joule's pool cantilevers eight feet over Commerce Street, projecting glass-edged from the rooftop of the 1927 Dallas Power & Light building. Designed by architect Chad Oppenheim, it's a structural feat as much as a pool — swimmers can glide to the transparent edge and look straight down eight floors to the street below. The surrounding marble deck faces downtown Dallas, and at night, the building's illuminated Gothic arches create one of the most dramatic pool settings in North America. A uniquely American architectural achievement that turns swimming into a form of vertigo.
